It's definitely worth mentioning that the journey began in 2015 in Jogjakarta, Indonesia when a foreign investor approached Albert Bruinekool, the CEO and Founder of the Prima Family, to develop a Gaharu tree plantation in one of the most challenging and non-indigenous regions of Indonesia for Gaharu cultivation. With immense enthusiasm and determination, Albert embarked on the task of scouting the area for suitable land.
While the detailed process of what Albert refers to as the '7 magic steps + 1' in Agarwood cultivation is available, the world's focus was predominantly on the preservation of this mystical tree, often dubbed black gold. This concern was prevalent in 2015 but has heightened even further in 2025, a decade later.
For a deeper understanding of the state of Agarwood globally, I recommend watching the documentary "Scent from Heaven" produced by Al Jazeera in 2019. This film provides comprehensive insights into the challenges faced by the Agarwood sector. In summary, Agarwood is another precious species that teetered on the brink of extinction, saved only by the intervention of dedicated individuals and organizations such as Prima Plants.
Fast forward to 2025, a decade later, the Prima Family stands as a beacon of expertise in Agarwood cultivation. The renowned "7 magic steps + 1" method has restored Agarwood's prominence, establishing us as a leading figure in Indonesia, Malaysia, and Thailand. While our success spans across multiple Asian countries, Indonesia remains the pivotal origin of this journey. The author of this narrative senses that this beginning may not only mark the first chapter but also the concluding one in this remarkable story.

The complexity of the agarwood industry stems from a multitude of factors that extend far beyond merely planting the tree. A significant aspect is the lengthy cultivation process that spans 18 years, requiring meticulous care to ensure the tree's survival and optimal growth. Additionally, establishing the necessary infrastructure, such as distillation facilities for oil extraction or factories for chip production, adds another layer of complexity to the endeavor.
Moreover, the challenges do not end with cultivation and processing. Finding suitable buyers for agarwood products poses a considerable hurdle, further complicated by the intricate landscape of marketing and sales within the industry. The agarwood sector has unfortunately fallen victim to widespread issues such as scams, pyramid schemes, and the controversial multi-level management model. This negative influence has tainted the reputation of the agarwood business, making the task of navigating marketing and sales strategies even more daunting.
The pervasive presence of these unethical practices underscores a troubling reality within the agarwood industry, where profit-driven motives often take precedence over ethical considerations. The exploitation of individuals in pursuit of financial gain has unfortunately become intertwined with the operations of certain entities in the agarwood sector, tarnishing the integrity of the industry as a whole. Addressing these systemic issues and restoring trust and transparency are crucial steps towards fostering a more sustainable and ethical agarwood industry in the future.

When Albert initiated PPI in Jogjakarta in 2015, the Prima Family was initially unaware. After a decade-long journey, we are now prepared to offer our clients an unprecedented opportunity. With a return on investment exceeding 50% annually over a two-year period, this exceptional plan sets us apart in the industry.
